Ibiza & Formentera Preservation raised €233,599 at its annual charity dinner, held on Monday at Playa Soleil, with proceeds going towards more than 20 projects focused on the conservation and environmental regeneration of Ibiza and Formentera. Around 130 supporters, partners and friends of the foundation attended the fundraising evening, which was dedicated to protecting the future of the Pitiusa Islands, according to the organization.

During his speech, Ibiza & Formentera Preservation president Philip Muelder highlighted some of the foundation’s recent achievements. These include the planting of more than 1,500 fruit trees to support local agriculture while restoring soils and landscapes; the removal of hundreds of invasive snakes from areas of particular ecological importance to protect the Ibizan wall lizard; educational initiatives aimed at residents, students, teachers and culinary professionals to reduce food waste; and continued efforts to strengthen the monitoring and protection of Posidonia seagrass meadows.

“Everyone here shares a common love for these islands, and we have come together to turn that connection into action. We want to achieve real change and create a tangible impact on the ground,” Muelder said, emphasizing that donations remain essential to the foundation’s work.

“Raising this amount in a single night means we can continue turning the trust of our donors into concrete projects. Behind this figure are people who believe in what we do, and for our team that represents an enormous responsibility: making sure every contribution has a real and meaningful impact on the islands,” said Ibiza & Formentera Preservation executive director Inma Saranova. “We could not do any of this without your help. Your support allows us to take a long-term view and tackle new challenges,” she added, referring to the foundation’s donors.

Foundation co-founder Serena Cook also addressed guests during the dinner, hosted by two of the organization’s ambassadors: Danny Whittle, CEO of Chinois and an artist manager, and Juan Suárez, journalist, writer and communications expert. “The foundation is now so much more than we dreamed of 18 years ago. We have supported more than 60 projects, but there is still so much to do, which is why we need your continued support,” Cook said.

Culture and music at Ibiza’s charity evening

The evening opened with a performance by Colla Sa Bodega, which presented a traditional ball pagès show during the welcome cocktail as a tribute to Ibiza’s local culture. DJ Andy Baxter provided the soundtrack before the evening continued inside the restaurant.

Playa Soleil’s kitchen prepared an entirely vegan menu with support from Coller Foundation. Through this choice, Ibiza & Formentera Preservation sought to demonstrate that a more environmentally responsible culinary offering can successfully combine sustainability and flavour.

Fundraising continued throughout dinner alongside magic performances by Sean Christopher, who, according to the organization, entertained guests with his illusions, while the Deva Models team assisted attendees and helped facilitate donations.

The Shop Productions handled event production, supported by the Deliciously Sorted team in organizing the evening. Marqués de Riscal, Bombay Sapphire, Bodegas Can Rich, Ibizkus, Familia Marí Mayans and Ibicello contributed a selection of drinks. As in previous years, guests also found gifts from Sal de Ibiza, Hierbas de Ibiza and Bosqal waiting at their tables, a gesture that the foundation says has become part of the traditional welcome at its annual charity dinner.

The Ibiza & Formentera Preservation team brought the evening to a close by thanking guests for their generosity, as well as Playa Soleil and the companies, organizations and professionals whose involvement made the event possible. The foundation said the support raised during the dinner will allow it to continue its environmental work and launch new conservation projects across Ibiza and Formentera.
