Weather forecast for Pilar long weekend in Ibiza and Formentera

Numerous heat records have been broken for the month of October across the country

Hot, too hot for the month of October. The Pilar long weekend is expected to see highs of over 28 degrees in Ibiza and 27 degrees in Formentera. In principle there will be no rainfall, according to forecasts by the Spanish Meteorological Agency (Aemet).

The sky will remain clear and cloudy, except for Friday afternoon when the sun will come out and the clouds will disappear.

Minimum temperatures in Ibiza will be 17 degrees with a tendency to rise to 20 degrees on Saturday and Sunday.

Heat records

Throughout October there have been high temperatures that have broken numerous heat records for this month throughout the country. “This is possibly the most anomalous warm episode in Spain since records have been kept,” according to the Aemet.

However, the first autumn morning fogs are already appearing in Ibiza, which typically form at dawn due to the overnight cooling. Weak winds and a wet surface layer below a dry one favor their formation.

When will it rain?

The Aemet forecasts that next Monday there will be rainfall in the Pitiusas with a 65% probability. Temperatures however will not drop excessively, since for the beginning of next week minimum and maximum temperatures of 18 and 26 degrees are expected in Ibiza and 19 and 26 degrees in Formentera.
