Torrential rain and hailstorms dampen Ibiza and Formentera: Weather update

The fire risk index for this Wednesday is extreme/very high in Ibiza and very high in Formentera

The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has confirmed the change in the weather for this week on the islands and has announced that from Friday onwards heavy rainfalls are expected, occasionally with thunderstorms and small hail.

At the moment, on Friday only the yellow warning for heavy rainfall has been activated in the eastern half of Mallorca.

At lbiza and Formenterayesterday, Tuesday and Wednesday there was some rainfall, although yesterday’s rains did not even reach one liter per square meter, according to the records of the Aemet.

The probability of rainfall for Friday is 70% as of 12 noon and 85% on Saturday with thunderstorms from midnight to 12 noon, by which time precipitation will be subsiding, according to the Aemet forecast, up to a 40% chance of rainfalls.

The lowest maximum temperature this week will be 21 degrees, forecast for Saturday, and the lowest minimum, 11 degrees, also magazine for Saturday. The forecast of precitaciones for Sunday is 55%, according to the Aemet.

On the other hand, the Aemet points out that the Fire Risk Index for this Wednesday is extreme/very high in Ibiza and very high in Formentera.
