Nowadays, stopping to refuel at a fuel station is an expense as luxurious as going into a jewelry store, with the difference that a vehicle on an island like Ibiza is a necessity.
The price of fuel has not given a respite for weeks, with daily increases that do nothing more than burden the economy of families. The Government’s 20 cents bonus is of little use if the average price of a liter of 95 gasoline in Ibiza reaches 2.20 euros. Depending on where we stop to refuel on the island, we will pay between 2.219 and 2.229 euros per liter, when the average in Spain is 2.092 euros per liter.
Behind these increases is the rise in oil prices, which in recent weeks has resumed the upward trend, due to tensions between supply and demand after the ban imposed by the EU on imports of Russian crude oil.
Fuel prices today on Ibiza: the cheapest gas stations
The escalation in prices has caused gasoline to increase by 25% since the beginning of the year, compared to the 27% increase in the price of diesel.
With these prices, filling an average 55-liter tank with gasoline today costs 121 euros on Ibiza (102 on average in Spain).
Formentera, even more expensive
If you thought gasoline was expensive on Ibiza, its even more expensive on Formentera. There are two fuel stations on the island, one Cepsa, with a liter of 95 at 2.259 euros and one Repsol (2.199 euros). In addition, the island is in the top ten Spanish cities with the most expensive diesel. The Repsol gas station is the sixth most expensive in the country for diesel, at 2.145 euros per liter (in Cepsa the price drops to 2.129 euros / liter).
