The private detective in charge of the case of British rugby player Levi Davis, who disappeared three months ago in Barcelona hours after getting off a ferry from Ibiza, has unveiled new details of the investigation.

According to Gavin Burrows’ inquiries, at least 38 contacts from the star’s Instagram account were deleted after her disappearance, as published exclusively by The Sun newspaper.

“We were contacted by a friend who said it was suspicious that these names had been removed,” Burrows told The Sun Online. “The only other person who has access to the account has said they haven’t touched it,” the private investigator noted.

“We’ve always said he’s either still alive, because it happened after he disappeared, or someone else had access and deleted it,” the detective assured.

“The question now is who accessed his account.” Burrows noted.

Gavin Burrows considers both the names and whoever deleted them to be “vital clues” that could lead to discovering what happened to Levi Davis.

“The fact that his account was accessed is a line of inquiry we can’t rule out,” the detective told The Sun, as whoever accessed the account could have done so to “obstruct or mislead” the investigation.

Burrows added that there is a possibility that the contacts were accessed using software that removes inactive followers from contacts. “However, it is highly suspicious that these people were deleted simultaneously,” he said.

Because of them, the detective is asking Instagram to provide a legal explanation for this account move.

“What we want to know is where it was accessed from. We need them to provide the location,” Burrows stated.

Levi Davis last seen in Barcelona

Levi Davis was captured on security cameras leaving The Old Irish Pub in Barcelona at around 10:05pm after traveling to Barcelona from Ibiza, where he had been staying with a friend.

The former Bath player suffered from depression and had gone on vacation following a knee injury.

Davis posted a final video message on the ferry from Ibiza to Barcelona in which she can be heard saying, “Hi mom…it’s beautiful.”

On the same day it was said that workers on some boats reported seeing a person in the sea, but search operations were suspended because no one was missing on board the ship.

Levi Davis’ bank card and phone number have not been used and reports in Spain cite the possibility that Levi Davis may have been abducted by someone he met on social media, The Sun recalls.
