The beach of Punta Xinxó, located in the municipality of Sant Josep, was closed to bathing yesterday afternoon due to the presence of feces, reports the Consistory.
The press release adds that in the biweekly analysis carried out by the Coastal Department to assess the quality of the bathing water, high levels of biological contamination have been detected.
On this occasion, unlike the two closures of this beach that have taken place this year, the origin of the contamination is not due to a leak or leakage of the section of the sewerage network that runs along this stretch of coast, says the department.
Beach closed until levels return to normal
Since this yesterday afternoon in Punta Xinxó the red flag that prohibits bathing has been raised and the area has been cordoned off with a fence and police tape, which will be maintained until health levels return to those recommended for bathing.
