Ayahuasca is an ancestral brew used in the traditional medicine of indigenous peoples. A drink that generates hallucinogenic effects and is currently used in shamanic rituals that sell “finding oneself”. Alberto José Valera, born in Buenos Aires in 1961, created the world’s largest empire of this Amazonian plant. He is the founder of the company Ayahausca International, which celebrates neo-shamanic rituals all over the world, including Ibiza.
Ayahuasca International promoted these rituals through social networks and websites. In these ads promised an improvement in the physical and emotional health of the participants thanks to the consumption of different psychoactives. Apparently, they made their concoction in Colombia and introduced it into Spain through Madrid airport by means of ‘mules’ or simulating imports of other products.
