A man, of Mauritanian origin and 45 years old, has been arrested by the National Police in Ibiza for robbing with violence in an establishment in the center of Vila.
The agents arrested the perpetrator last Saturday when they received a tip from 091 to go to a business in Ibiza town, where a robbery had taken place.
According to what the patrol was told by the person in charge of the establishment and one of its workers, the individual had gone that same morning to the establishment and had disturbed the store’s staff. In addition, the worker also said that the individual had returned in the afternoon, around 6:30 p.mwhen a struggle broke out between them after they discovered him trying to steal products valued at more than 400 euros hiding them in a bag in which he was carrying among other things several bottles of cologne.
When asked by the two workers to leave the bag with the stolen effects, the detainee became very aggressive and began to show resistance, even throwing a one-liter beer bottle at one of them, managing to hit him.
The man finally managed to escape with two bags. The female workers called the National Police officers, who requested a description of the subject and checked the cameras of the establishment in order to transfer it to the units that were working in the area to coordinate a raid to intercept him.
The agents managed to locate the man about an hour and a half after he committed the crime and after his identification, they were able to verify that he had accumulated more than thirty police arrests for various crimes.
