Back to the 80’s

The greatest hits of the 80s once again enlivened the La Movida party in Sant Antoni. Thousands of people gathered last Saturday 19th August on the beach of s’Arenal to dance, sing and enjoy themselves to the rhythm of the best songs from the 80s and some from later decades.

The party started at 8.30 pm with Oscar de Pablos, better known as dj Frogman. After him, dj Petit and Vázquez played the best music of the 80s and 90s, accompanied by saxophonist Lugotti and singer Helena Lynn. The group Passion Dancers and Victor Performance were in charge of putting the dance and the show on stage to make this summer night a success.

Until well into the early hours of the morning, groups of friends of all ages, danced and sang at a party that is already one of the favorite events of Sant Antoni and the whole island every summer.

Eighties looks

Many of the attendees got right into the role and attended the event dressed in the most eighties outfits.

Wigs, colored stockings, headbands, wristbands and all kinds of accessories of the time flooded the beach of s’Arenal, making everyone who came to the beach of the portmanyí municipality to enjoy the party travel back in time.

For the last three years, La Movida has been one of the star events of the Sant Bartomeu festival program. A party that, year after year, continues to grow and brings together about 7,000 people in each edition.

Sant Antoni is, in the words of its councilman of festivities, Miguel Tur, a benchmark in patron saint festivals, something that, in addition to providing more leisure options to its neighbors and tourists, helps to boost the economy of the town.

Every year people from all over the island come to Sant Antoni looking for fun and entertainment away from the famous discos and clubs of the island.
