A passenger allegedly ignored the seatbelt sign, sparking a chain-reaction brawl with fellow travelers in the cabin.

An international flight between London Stansted and Ibiza ended in a scene of high tension after a brawl erupted between several passengers as the aircraft was preparing its final descent to the Mediterranean island. According to a report by the Daily Mail, the incident took place on October 5 and began when a passenger stood up to use the restroom despite the fasten seatbelt sign being clearly illuminated.

In-flight footage captured onboard shows several travelers surrounding a man while a flight attendant attempts to defuse the altercation, repeatedly ordering him to return to his seat. Harry Watson, a 28-year-old tourist who witnessed the event and whose testimony was gathered by the British newspaper, explained that several passengers began reproaching the man for his behavior once he returned from the lavatory.

According to his account, one of the travelers became particularly verbally aggressive, prompting the man to react violently. This triggered a physical confrontation that flared up multiple times during the flight. “The guy started attacking other passengers, and he had to be restrained multiple times,” Watson recounted. The eyewitness further noted that, at a later point, another passenger stood up and struck the individual involved.

The disruptive incident occurred while the aircraft was already in its approach phase to Ibiza, which significantly hampered landing preparations and caused subsequent delays, according to the same information.

H2: Police Ambush the Aircraft Upon Arrival in Ibiza

Ryanair confirmed to the Daily Mail that the flight crew requested advanced police assistance due to the disruptive behavior of a passenger onboard. Upon arrival at Ibiza Airport, local police officers were waiting for the aircraft and proceeded to remove the passenger identified as the cause of the disturbance from the cabin.

The airline also reiterated that it maintains a strict “zero-tolerance” policy against disruptive behavior onboard, asserting that it will continue to take firm measures against this type of conduct to prevent safety incidents during its flights.
