Ibiza Parador now has water and electricity supply, but still no opening date

There are no longer any technical excuses. Camí del Calvari has been completed, recently refurbished and officially inaugurated by the relevant authorities. The water cistern intended to supply the establishment has also been ready for several months. Aqualia has even been carrying out periodic test connections — described as “small water circuits” — to keep the new pipes in good condition in anticipation of the arrival of the first guests. Despite all this, there is still no news of a possible opening date for the Ibiza Parador at Dalt Vila Castle, even though its managers previously announced that it would open soon.

In recent days, workers from the company responsible for the drinking water supply and sanitation service in Ibiza Town have been putting the “finishing touches” to the installation of the pipes connecting the cistern to the Parador. Aqualia took advantage of the works on Camí del Calvari to replace the pipes, which are now “completely new” and in “perfect condition”.

The municipal government, led by PP mayor Rafael Triguero, has also confirmed that the building has had an electricity supply for at least ten days. The Town Council even made a generator available to Aqualia, should it have been necessary to activate the water supply system.

Ibiza Town Council therefore maintains that there are no outstanding issues that could delay the opening of the establishment, aside from logistical matters that fall solely under the responsibility of Paradores, the public company that manages these state-owned luxury hotels. This newspaper once again attempted to contact those responsible yesterday, without success.
