The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) is forecasting rain, very strong winds and coastal phenomena for this weekend. Meteorologists had already activated the yellow alert for this Friday and will now keep it in place until eight o’clock on Saturday morning.
The day is expected to be marked by bad weather across the Pitiusas. North wind gusts of up to 70 kilometres per hour are forecast, and waves at sea could reach three metres in height.
According to Aemet, the probability of rainfall this Friday stands at 75%. In the afternoon, that probability will drop to 55%, and some showers may still occur on Saturday morning.
Temperatures will range between seven and 15 degrees, with the snow line dropping to around 500 metres. The atmosphere will be cold, and the wind chill will make it feel even lower.
Skies are expected to begin clearing from Saturday afternoon, when the wind will also ease. The forecast indicates that Sunday will be a sunny day with a slight rise in maximum temperatures, which could reach 19 degrees.
