This is the well-known fair held in Ibiza this weekend

The Squid Gastronomic Fair 2024 will return on Saturday October 26 to Sant Carles, coinciding with the patron saint festivities, and will offer a ton of products and about 8,000 tapas ready to enjoy, as reported by Eivissa Sabors. This event, which promotes local products, is organized in collaboration with the Festival Committee, the Association of Neighbors La Union, the Fishermen’s Guild of Eivissa through Peix Nostrum, and the City Council of Santa Eulària, with the support of the Consell de Ibiza.

The fair will begin at 11 am with the preparation of the recipes in the surroundings of the church of Sant Carles. A highlight of this event is its inclusive approach, inviting both professional chefs and amateur cooks to showcase their culinary skills.

“Participants can present a variety of dishes, from traditional recipes that honor the island’s gastronomic roots to innovative creations that highlight the versatility of squid,” explain the organizers.

The Cofradia plays a crucial role in ensuring a fresh and plentiful supply of squid for participants, with the possibility of serving up to 8,000 servings.

Games, workshops and music

A unique feature of the Calamari Gastronomic Fair 2024 is its pricing system, which is based on the conversion from euros to ‘carlinos’, the official currency of the patron saint’s festivities. In addition, the fair also offers entertainment for the whole family. A play area and children’s workshops give the little ones the opportunity to have fun and learn while the adults enjoy the culinary delights and music.

During the weekend the live music will be a central part of the event, enlivening the day from 6 pm to 11.30 pm, with concerts by bands such as Ésta me la sé or La Movida Band.

To make the visit even more comfortable and easy, about 5,000 parking spaces will be available throughout the core of Sant Carles, which will facilitate access.
