The Ibiza City Council has now set a date for the start of the expected refurbishment of the changing rooms of the Can Misses swimming pool, a “historic and much needed” project, according to municipal sources, whose works will begin on July 16th. The works, awarded to the company Hermanos Parrot for 300,186.48 euros (VAT included), includes the interior renovation of the changing rooms of the swimming pools, which, “in spite of being in a relatively good state”, says the Consistory, have become obsolete by what is expected with this type of installation nowadays.
The execution period of the projected works is set at seven months and the project also includes the construction of a new slab as well as the new foundations for the future construction of a new floor.
All the Can Misses swimming pool renovation details
The municipal technicians detected shortcomings that led to the drafting of the project, such as showers with partitions, accessibility problems and the distribution of benches, among others.
The remodeling at the Can Misses swimming pool foresees that all the sanitary fixtures will be made of white vitrified porcelain. Their installation includes connection to the sewage system, installation of faucets, mirrors, towel racks and toilet paper holders. Electric hand dryers and folding armrests will also be installed in the adapted toilets. This section includes the installation of phenolic partitions for the toilets, which will be of the same color for the men’s and women’s changing rooms.
Regarding the carpentry, all current doors will be replaced. The new ones will be smooth painted wood. The exterior doors providing access to each room will be solid and will be painted in the same color as the identifying tile. The interior doors will be made of plywood and will also be painted in the same color. The boiler room door will be painted dark gray.
The doors will also be painted, the ceiling of the entire building will be painted with matte white plastic paint and, finally, the lockers and benches will be installed.
The total usable area of the space to be renovated at the Can Misses swimming pool is 328.59 square meters, divided between men’s changing room (114.50 m²), women’s changing room (125.42 m²), hall (41.59 m²), offices (29.24 m²) and storeroom (17.84 m²).
