Six new electric vehicle recharging points in Santa Eulària

The project, which has been put out to tender, foresees charging stations in Jesús, Santa Gertrudis, es Puig d'en Valls and es Canar

Santa Eulària Town Council continues to expand the network of electric vehicle charging points, and to this end has just launched a tender for a contract for the installation of new supply posts that will allow the main population centres of the municipality to have at least one of these elements.

As explained by the City Council in a press release, the six new recharging points will be installed in Jesús, es Puig d’en Valls, Santa Gertrudis and es Canar and are in addition to the 12 already in operation in Santa Eulària, the two solar recharging points in Sant Carles, the two in the Jesús soccer field -the installation is already finished and awaiting the completion of the administrative procedures to start receiving supply- and the 11 that will soon be installed in different parts of Villa del Río. Once the interventions have been completed, there will be 27 public recharging points.

The bidding procedure is open and bids may be submitted to until December 18. The contract has a base bidding budget of about 180,000 euros, VAT included, and the estimated execution period for the works once the award is completed is six weeks.

The contract provides for the installation of six points for simultaneous recharging of up to two vehicles per pole. The equipment has been specially designed for outdoor use and the aim has been to find elements that are safe, reliable and easy to use, even for people who need to move around in wheelchairs, according to the Consistory.

The points where the recharging stations will be installed are: the parking lot of the Centro Cultural de Jesús; the parking lot of the Santa Gertrudis Sports Area, Venda de Cas Savions street, nº 15; Pou des Cans street, nº 3, in es Canar; s’Espalmador street, nº 29, in Cala Llenya, Sant Carles; in Quatre Cantons street, nº 32, in S’Olivera, es Puig d’en Valls, and in the parking lot of the Sports Center of es Puig d’en Valls.
