Supermodel Irina Shayk has travelled to Ibiza for Hunza G’s latest campaign, a fashion brand whose image remains closely associated with one of the most memorable looks from Pretty Woman.

In 1990, Julia Roberts wore a Hunza mini dress in the film — an electric-blue skirt paired with a white cut-out top that exposed part of her torso. The look went on to become one of the brand’s most recognisable designs.

More than three decades later, Hunza G has chosen Ibiza as the setting for its Resort 2027 collection, with Russian supermodel Irina Shayk as the face of the new swimwear campaign.

The island’s sea, rocky coastline and distinctive Mediterranean light all feature prominently in the campaign, created by creative director and founder Georgiana Huddart and photographed by Davit Giorgadaze.

From Pretty Woman to the beaches of Ibiza

Hunza was originally founded in 1984 and became known throughout the 1980s and 1990s for its vibrant colours, revealing silhouettes and signature crinkle fabric.

One of the defining moments in the brand’s history came in 1990 with Pretty Woman. The Hunza mini dress worn by Julia Roberts in the film became one of the label’s most recognisable pieces and helped cement its place in fashion history.

In 2015, Georgiana Huddart revived Hunza G, drawing on the brand’s 1980s and 1990s heritage.

The company reinvented its signature Original Crinkle™, an elasticated fabric designed to adapt to different body shapes and which has since become one of the defining characteristics of its swimwear.

Irina Shayk brings 2000s nostalgia to Hunza G

For Resort 2027, Hunza G looks beyond the decades that originally defined the label and turns its attention to the 2000s for inspiration.

The brand describes the collection as “sexy, fresh and naturally confident”, presenting it as a love letter to the era and drawing on its glamour, daring cuts and unmistakable leading-character energy.

For Shayk, the collaboration with Hunza G was a natural fit.

“I’ve been loving and wearing Hunza G for years, so working together felt very natural. I already knew many members of the team and there was this incredible feeling of being among friends; it never felt like work,” the model says.

“Ibiza, the light, the sea, that feeling of freedom”

Ibiza itself plays a central role in the campaign.

The photographs show Shayk wearing different swimwear designs beside the Mediterranean, posing among the island’s rocks and in the sea.

The model singled out the setting when describing the experience.

“The collection is sexy and fun, with that 2000s nostalgia that I love, and then there’s Ibiza, the light, the sea, that feeling of freedom. Everything flowed very naturally. I’m so happy that we’ve finally been able to create something together,” Shayk says.

Her connection with Ibiza goes beyond this latest fashion campaign.

Shayk appeared on the cover of Vogue España for the first time in a photograph taken in Ibiza, and she has been returning to the island for years to enjoy time away from work.

Earlier this summer, she also starred in a Desigual campaign filmed in Ibiza, adding another high-profile fashion shoot to her long-standing connection with the island.

For Hunza G, the choice of Ibiza brings together several elements that define the Resort 2027 collection: Mediterranean glamour, swimwear, nostalgia and the effortless sense of freedom associated with the island.
