Antonio Tàrries and Dolors Marín, a retired Catalan couple, were the sole attendees of an ornithological guided tour at Parc Natural de ses Salines, held as part of Sant Francesc de s’Estany’s festivities. The tour, led by environmental educators Paquita Riera and Eduard Palau, showcased various bird species, including flamingos and xerraires. The couple, who enjoy visiting natural sites like Doñana and ses Salines, praised the uniqueness of the Ibizan salt flats, emphasizing the enhanced experience provided by professional guides. Despite the tour’s aim to attract families, its exclusive nature offered Tàrries and Marín a personalized experience, which exceeded their expectations by revealing an alternative, natural side to Ibiza, countering the island’s party-centric stereotype. The visit included a variety of environments, from dry ponds to historic towers, enriching their appreciation for the area’s avian life.
