Over seven years ago, the Guardia Civil’s Central Operative Unit raided the Amnesia discotheque in Ibiza as part of a tax fraud investigation. Four individuals, including the owner Martín Ferrer, were arrested but later released with certain restrictions and their accounts seized. Despite these actions, progress in the case has been slow, with the court still awaiting a report from the Tax Agency, which was requested nearly a year after the raid. The operation was initiated following an anonymous tip-off, suspected to be from a former employee, about tax fraud in 2012 and 2013. The Tax Agency’s preliminary report led to the search and seizure of numerous documents for analysis. However, years later, the case remains stagnant, with repeated requests to dismiss the charges due to investigation delays being denied, pending the Tax Agency’s report. The initial complaint implicated the tax advisor’s influence on Ferrer, leading to high mortgage debt and alleged evasion of tax obligations.
