The exhibition ‘Ancestral’, opening tomorrow at Sa Nostra Sala in Ibiza, showcases the work of Aïda Miró, who revisits the folklore of Ibiza and Formentera with a modern perspective, focusing on the Pitiusa woman. Miró aims to renew traditional imagery to resonate with younger generations, particularly through her experiences learning the ball pagès. The exhibition, curated by Matilde Lladó, features 22 works using mixed media, including fluorescent paintings and videoperformance. It emphasises the role of women in rural and craft traditions, blending ancestral heritage with contemporary artistic expression. ‘Ancestral’ runs until November 15.
