The Primer Diumenge de Maig celebration in Santa Eulària, known as ‘Anar a Maig’, marked its 50th edition with its traditional exhibition of flowers and plants at Teatro España, drawing large crowds and nearly a hundred participants. Despite a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the event remains a beloved tradition, attracting plant enthusiasts from across Ibiza. The exhibition, also a contest, featured nine categories with prizes distributed across three levels, plus additional special awards, acknowledging the dedication of participants, many of whom are long-standing veterans. Isabel García Marí, the exhibition’s coordinator, emphasized the community’s engagement and the personal commitment of the locals who nurture these plants year-round, making the event a showcase of both community spirit and horticultural passion.
