The Italian singer, who has called Ibiza home since 2008, unveils the first single from ‘Origini’, an entirely Italian-language project. The music video was filmed at locations across the island, including Dalt Vila.

Italian singer Claudia Ottelli, who has been based in Ibiza since 2008 and is a familiar presence on the island’s live music scene, is embarking on a new artistic chapter with ‘Quante Volte’, the first single from ‘Origini’. The project, performed entirely in Italian, is an attempt to reconnect with her personal and artistic roots.

The music video for ‘Quante Volte’ will be unveiled on 19 October at 7pm at Sa Peixateria, in Ibiza’s La Marina district, ahead of the song’s official release on 23 October.

As Ottelli explains in the project’s presentation, the song explores the contradictions of love: the mistakes people repeat even when they know they may cause pain, and the lessons they must learn to move forward.

‘Quante Volte’ also marks the beginning of a three-part musical series about heartbreak, tracing different stages of the experience: pain, misguided decisions and, ultimately, the process of learning to let go and move on.

The philosophy behind the song is summed up in one of the ideas accompanying its release: “Sometimes we need to make the same mistakes more than once to understand that it’s time to choose a different path.”

The track was co-written with French pianist Julien Catonne, with Salvatore Licitra contributing on bass and cello. The arrangements are by Mike Alcaras, while electronic production was handled by Arko Producción.

Recording took place at Estudios Cala, with Pedro González, while mixing and mastering were carried out by Javy Lerin.

The project’s presentation describes the result as a blend of “sensitivity, emotion and a contemporary sound”. Through ‘Origini’, Ottelli also hopes to renew her connection with her native language and cultural heritage.

Ibiza takes centre stage in the ‘Quante Volte’ music video

Ibiza plays a central role in the visual identity of ‘Quante Volte’. The music video was filmed at several locations across the island, including Dalt Vila, Ibiza’s historic fortified old town. Its visual style is designed to complement the song’s emotional intimacy while maintaining a strong connection with the island’s landscape.

The video was directed and produced by David Suñol of Horsework Studio, with Oliver from Ibiza Dronework responsible for the aerial footage.

According to the project’s presentation, filming also became an exercise in “collaboration and creative understanding” among the artists and professionals involved.

‘Origini’: a personal journey through heartbreak and self-discovery

For Ottelli, ‘Origini’ represents a personal search and a reconnection with her roots. Through a trilogy exploring heartbreak, personal growth and the ability to move forward, the singer transforms intimate experiences into a contemporary musical project.

With ‘Quante Volte’ as its opening chapter, the project brings together her Italian identity, emotional storytelling and the landscapes of Ibiza, where she has built her artistic life since 2008.
