Three youths arrested in upscale Ibiza for stealing €125,000 watch

The Specialized and Violent Crime Group (UDEV) of the National Police of Ibiza arrested on Sunday three men of Maghrebi origin, two with British nationality and another with French nationality, as alleged perpetrators of a crime of integration into a criminal group, robbery with violence and false documentationaccording to a press release issued by the police. The detainees, aged 34, 23 y 21 years of age, respectively, have been handed over to the Examining Magistrate’s Court.

The events occurred on Thursday, when just a quarter of an hour to midnight, in “a high purchasing power area of Ibiza”. The agents were already aware of this case, since the victim filed a complaint.

The UDEV Group “started the investigation on July 4, when a tourist reported the robbery with violence of his watch valued at 125,000 euros”. Apparently he was “approached by surprise by a group of people of North African origin after leaving a leisure club”. The individuals made “a cut on his wrist to achieve their goal,” the statement continues. So far the stolen watch has not been found, as reported by the National Police on Tuesday at noon. Thus, their investigation continues.

The agents, who already know this modus operandi, and that “acted quickly, coordinated and with precise distribution of functions, intensified the actions of the investigation, managing to obtain with great speed all relevant data”.

The National Police carried out an operation for the location and arrest of those involved, which culminated on Sunday at nine in the morning, “before they left the island, being arrested as alleged perpetrators of the crimes of criminal group, robbery with violence and one of them, in addition, for false documentation, carrying stolen documentation belonging to another person, whose identity he was impersonating”.
