Weekend of festivities with activities and events for everyone in Santa Gertrudis

Tradition takes centre stage on the big day with mass, procession and ball pagès (a traditional dance)

The patron saint festivities of Santa Gertrudis promise a weekend full of fun and activities for all tastes and ages. This Thursday, the patron saint’s day, the festivities begin with a solemn mass at midday, followed by a procession through the streets of the town. The day will continue with a ball pagès exhibition by the Grup de Balls Tradicionals Santa Gertrudis.

The evening will be marked by laughter and humor. Felix El Gato and his monologues will be presented in the tent at 8.30 p.m., guaranteeing a show for all ages. The day will conclude with the presentation of trophies for the board game championship of the patron saint’s festivities at 9.30 p.m. in the church square.

On Friday the fun will continue with a dance exhibition and a dance master class by Studio 7 Dance Academy from 18 to 20 hours. Afterwards, young people will be able to enjoy a party designed especially for them, with Casanova Summum resident dj Rexo livening up the evening with the best music until midnight.

Weekend agenda

Saturday starts early with the Equestrian Trophy Fiestas Patronales de Santa Gertrudis at 10 am at the Can Mayans stables. Simultaneously, in the square, visitors will be able to explore a variety of craft products between 10 am and 2 pm. The day will continue with a mass at noon, followed by a performance by the Grup de Balls Tradicionals Santa Gertrudis at 1 p.m., commemorating its 40th anniversary.

The I Tournament of Qwirkle Fiestas de Santa Gertrudis will start at 18.30 hours with an exciting strategic challenge.

The music will take the stage from 8 pm with Morning Drivers and then Ressonadors, the formation of Omar Gisbert and Joan Barbé along with many other Pitiusan musicians will celebrate its XV anniversary with a review of their most memorable hits.

On Sunday, sport will be the protagonist with the final of the X Tennis Tournament Fiestas de Santa Gertrudis and the second day of the Equestrian Trophy. The morning will continue with a mass and blessing of the children at noon, followed by children’s activities organized by the Federació de Colles de Ball i Cultura Popular d’Ibiza. The World Mushroom and Chunks Rice Competition, in its fourth edition, will return between noon and 4 p.m., giving participants the opportunity to showcase their culinary skills. Music will be provided by DJ Toni Torres. From 4 p.m. onwards, the group Gran Reserva will take over with their Spanish rock.

Another exciting session of the I Qwirkle Tournament will put the finishing touch to a weekend full of tradition, music, sport and entertainment to enjoy with family and friends.
