Vaccination in Ibiza: booster appointments starting tomorrow

Those over 60 years of age and those vaccinated with Janssen will be able to apply

From 3.00pm on Friday, the Balearic Health Service (IbSalut) will start offering appointments for the Covid booster to people over 60 years of age, as well as to those under 60 years of age vaccinated with Janssen.

Appointments will be available on the BitCita digital self-appointment system (citavacunacovid.ibsalut.es) and vaccinations will begin on Friday afternoon.

This group has a target population of 100,769 people (78,528 in Mallorca, 9,379 in Menorca, 12,154 in Eivissa and 708 in Formentera). In addition, there are 25,910 people under 60 years of age vaccinated with Janssen.

Vaccination: the requirements for booster doses

The conditions for receiving the booster dose include having received the full Covid-19 vaccination schedule with at least six months having elapsed since the last dose in the case of Pfizer or Moderna, or three months in the case of Vaxzevria (AstraZeneca) or Janssen.

The vaccinations will be carried out at Son Dureta Hospital, the COVID Express units in Inca and Manacor, Son Espases Hospital, Son Llàtzer, Hospital Comarcal de Inca and Hospital de Manacor, in Mallorca.

In Menorca vaccinations will be carried out at health centres, and in Ibiza at Can Misses Hospital, the Sant Antoni de Portmany and Santa Eulàlia health centres and Formentera Hospital.

In addition, online appointments for booster vaccinations are still available until 12th December for healthcare and social-healthcare professionals, nursing homes, children’s centres, health inspectors, home care and day care centre workers, dependency workers, healthcare and social-healthcare students, prison staff, drug dependency centre staff, occupational workshop staff, forensic and legal medicine department staff, auxiliary staff and all other healthcare professionals.
