Tropical night at the end of October and risk of heavy rains in Ibiza and Formentera

This is not the first time in the month of october that the minimum temperatures exceed 20 degrees, but it is the first time that this circumstance occurs in all the municipalities of Ibiza and Formentera at the same time.

Thus, early this morning Ibiza, the airport, Sant Antoni and Formentera registered 22 degrees and Sant Joan21 degrees.

These data contrast with the minimums experienced in the early hours of Sunday morningwith 8 degrees in Sant Joan, 10 degrees in Sant Antoni and Ibiza and 12 degrees at the airport of Ibiza and Formentera.

This is the third tropical night in Ibiza so far this month. The episode of temperatures above 20 degrees was repeated on October 18, with 22 degrees in Ibiza and 23 degrees at the aerodrome of es Codolar, and on October 19, with a minimum of 23 degrees at the airport.

However, for Formentera it is the fifth tropical night of the month of Octoberon October 4, Formentera had a minimum temperature of 22 degrees; on October 17, 21 degrees; on October 18, 23 degrees; and finally, 21 degrees on October 19.

Yellow Alert

The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) forecasts for this Monday in the Balearic Islands intervals of high clouds increasing at night to overcast, with probability of some precipitation accompanied by mud at the end due to the dust in suspension.

Temperatures will be on the rise, with minimum and maximum temperatures of 20 and 27 degrees in the Pitiusas. The wind will blow from the southeast moderate, with strong intervals in the early morning. In fact, this morning gusts of up to 54 kilometers per hour have been recorded at the airport of Ibiza.

Aemet has activated the yellow alert for accumulated rainfall of up to 20 liters per square meter in the Pitiusas from midnight Monday until 7 am Tuesday.
