Slim Jim Phantom, drummer of the American rockabilly trio Stray Cats, will headline the Contrast Ibiza 2023 music and visual arts festival, where he will give the only concert he has scheduled in Europe on the 30th of September at Sa Punta des Molí in Sant Antoni.
The organization has informed this Friday in a note that the American musician will be accompanied on stage by Jennie Vee, the current bassist of Eagles of Death Metal, and guitarist Michel Brasseur.
At the concert will cover Stray Cats songs, the roots rock and roll trio he founded in 1979 with Brian Setzer (guitar and vocals) and Lee Rocker (bass).
Phantom has assured that he is looking forward to “rocking the town”, in reference to one of the group’s greatest hits ‘Rock this town’, which he will also perform along with classics by early rock and roll legends such as Buddy Holly, Eddie Cochran and Carl Perkins.
The festival, which is free and takes place on September 30 starting at 7:00 pm, will also offer in the Walter Benjamin room of Sa Punta des Molí the inauguration of the exhibition ‘Times Square in the Rain’, by New York artist Spencer Ostrander.
The lineup of Contrast Ibiza 2023 is completed with a third international artist to be unveiled in the coming days.
The festival is closely linked to the USA, as most of the artists scheduled to date are from that country, and, like last year, it will be presented in New York a few days before its celebration in Ibiza.
