Complaints follow one after another as far as public transport is concerned. This time the criticisms are directed at the bus stops that are close to the roundabout that joins Calle Polls with Sant Jordi.
According to a regular public transport user of line 10, which runs between Ibiza and the Airport, this stop is “totally abandoned” and recognizes that it is a “shame” because there is a high demand for public transport every day. Among them, students and teachers from the Can Raspalls school, also from the Algarb high school and the Can Raspalls Residence and Day Center. “It has a lot of movement in both directions,” he points out while saying that it must be taken into account that these are vulnerable groups. “The users from the residence have various functional disabilities and have to stand there waiting,” he laments.
Added to this is the bad weather in recent weeks, which has led many people “waiting for the bus covered with cardboard”, says this resident of Ibiza. “And now that the heat is coming, and they will also need to take shelter, there are no facilities for this. There are not even pergolas”.
The reality is that the two stops in this area, which are at road level, have no urban infrastructure, only a sign that there is a stop and road markings on the asphalt.
These stops are owned by the island, according to the City Council of Sant Josep, which states that the conversion of this area into a boulevard is a historical claim of the town. The Consell, however, has assured that it is the municipality’s responsibility.
