The National Police have dismantled an itinerant criminal gang to which they attribute up to 25 property-related crimes committed in different parts of Spain, including a theft in Ibiza in which, according to the investigation, €60,000 in cash was stolen from an armoured vehicle. The four members of the group have been arrested and remanded in custody, as reported by the National Police.
The suspects, who were residing in Nice, France, travelled around the country in a motorhome, allegedly committing robberies and thefts in tourist areas and locations with high purchasing power. The investigation links them to incidents in towns across the Valencian Community, Andalusia, the Balearic Islands and the Community of Madrid, from which they allegedly obtained nearly €200,000.
Motorhome, prior surveillance and high-value targets
According to police sources, the group specialised in two types of offences: on the one hand, break-ins and thefts from safes, and on the other, break-ins targeting the interiors of vehicles. They operated in a coordinated manner, carrying out prior surveillance and following their victims before committing the crimes.
Their objective was to steal cash, jewellery and electronic devices for subsequent sale on the black market. In addition, all members of the group used multiple identities and false documentation. One of them, according to the police statement, had as many as 24 different identities.
