Amazon’s founder Jeff Bezos gets engaged to Lauren Sanchez during Balearic Islands Holidays

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and his girlfriend, Mexican-born journalist Lauren Sanchez, have become engaged, according to CNN, citing a source close to the couple.

The businessman’s new relationship became known after he announced his divorce from MacKenzie Scott, with whom he shares four children and was married 25 years.

At the time, the former “Good Day LA” co-host was also divorcing her husband Patrick Whitesell, after 13 years of marriage. Sanchez has two children with him and another from a previous relationship with former professional soccer league (NFL) star Tony Gonzalez.

In 2022, the couple gave their first joint interview to the U.S. network CNN at their home in Washington DC, in which they talked about their philanthropic work and the charitable causes in which the billionaire, one of the richest men in the world, was involved.

Bezos is also the founder of the space company Blue Originand traveled aboard a 2021 flight into space on that company’s New Shepard rocket.

Sanchez, who is also a helicopter pilot, told CNN that she, too, plans to travel to space in the next few years and, to that end, will be joined by “a large group of women.”
