Taxi drivers in the municipality of Ibiza yesterday called a one-hour stoppage in their service, until eleven o’clock at night, to demand more space at the city’s taxi ranks and to facilitate the flow of traffic to load customers.
“We want to express our discomfort with the City Council and claim to be heard,” indicated the call for the protest in Whatsapp groups. Drivers complain that the Local Police have fined several of them in recent nights due to the maneuvers they must make to reach the port stop and avoid traffic jams. At press time, the extent of the protest was unknown.
