On Friday, December 1, the Christmas festivities will begin with the traditional lighting of lights in the Plaza de España

As has become traditional, on the last Friday before the Constitution bank holiday, the Christmas lights will be switched on in the municipality of Santa Eulària des Riu. The event on Friday the 1st of December at 6 pm will usher in a programme that will last until the 7th of January, with live performances as the main attraction, with more than 40 of these events. Theatre, storytelling, concerts, magic and ballet form part of the activities aimed above all at children, although there will be activities for all ages.

As every year, the lighting of the Christmas tree lights and other Christmas decorations throughout the municipality is one of the most anticipated events for the little ones. For this solemnity, there will be a performance by members of the Municipal Band and students of the Municipal School of Music. In addition, there will also be a small chocolate for attendees.

As always, regarding the program, most of the performances correspond to the initiatives of Festicontes (from 2 to 6) and Festiteatre (from 8 to 10), which try to energize the first weeks of December along with the Festicinema (from 15 to 17). It also adds a good number of performances the Sample Carols offered by different public schools in the municipality in the main squares of their respective populations. But there will also be Riuland, from December 22 to January 5, with magic shows, theater, storytelling and cinema, among other proposals.

In addition to the activities, the Christmas program of the City Council of Santa Eulària des Riu is completed with a Christmas School for children in school between 2012 and 2020 and will take place from December 27 to January 5. There will also be a new edition, from December 23 to 29, of the contest Top Cuiner Júnior. And interested parents can request a personalized greeting from the Three Wise Men to their young children.
