Dogs allowed: four Ibiza beaches open even in August

Finding a beach in Ibiza where you can take a dip with your dog isn’t always easy—especially in summer. Local regulations ban pets from most beaches during the high season, from Easter through the end of October. But don’t worry: there are a few exceptions.

In fact, four small dog-friendly areas have been officially designated between Eivissa and Santa Eulària. These spots are open all year round—yes, even in July and August—so you and your four-legged friend can enjoy the sea without risking a fine.

Where Can You Go With Your Dog in Ibiza?

In Eivissa
• Es Viver: A stretch of coastline between Quartó de Balançat and Quartó de Santa Eulària streets. At about 360 meters, it’s the largest dog-friendly area on the island.
• Ses Figueres (Talamanca): Located between Benirràs street and the municipal boundary. This sandy stretch even has benches where owners can relax while their dogs play.

In Santa Eulària des Riu
• Playa des Riu: Next to the river mouth, this small 15-meter area combines sand with stones.
• Es Faralló (Punta des Faralló): A rocky cove near Puig de s’Església Vella, around 30 meters long—perfect for dogs that love to explore.

Rules You Need to Follow

To enjoy these beaches responsibly, keep in mind:
• Your dog must have up-to-date documentation (vet card, vaccinations, etc.).
• Dogs must remain under control at all times.
• Potentially dangerous breeds must wear a muzzle.
• Owners are required to pick up after their pets.
• Dogs must be on a leash when entering or leaving the designated area.

Failure to respect these rules can lead to fines of up to €3,000 under current municipal regulations.
