A woman died this afternoon in Platja d’en Bossa. Apparently, the 51-year-old Czech tourist was taking a bath on the beach, in the area corresponding to Vila, at the height of Mediterrània street, when one of the lifeguards saw that something was not right and came to her rescue
The lifeguard pulled the woman, already unconscious, out of the water and although he tried to revive her, it was impossible. Patrols of the Local Police of Ibiza as well as the National Police Corps and several ambulances of 061 have moved to the area.
Eyewitnesses say that, after a long minutes of trying to revive her, health professionals have stopped their intervention and have covered the victim with a metal blanket, after which they have waited for the coroner to arrive. For the moment, neither the Local Police of Ibiza nor 061 have confirmed the death. Although neither have denied it. From Vila point out that when they can, they will report what has happened.
This is not the first death that occurs in recent weeks in the sand of Platja d’en Bossa. Last June 29th a 71 year old man of Spanish nationality also died after taking a bath in this same area of the beach of Vila. On that occasion also intervened lifeguards, who, after removing him from the water, began resuscitation while waiting for ambulances to arrive.
