The Consell de Ibiza distributes three million euros in aid among 668 companies

The institution plans to allocate โ‚ฌ1.7 million of the excess to an extension of the call for proposals to mitigate losses due to COVID-19

The Department of Economic and Business Promotion and Municipal Cooperation of the Consell de Ibiza has processed 100% of the requests of calls for aid aimed at alleviating the consequences of the restrictions caused by the Covid health crisis, in the hospitality among others, and co-financed by the Balearic Government.

In total the applications of 668 establishments have been favourably resolved, representing 3,004,500 euros, i.e. 63.80% of the number total requests for help received by the institution in this call for applications.

The application period began on 10 February and ended on 2 March, after which time, according to the Consell, the 1,047 applications that have been published in the BOIB have been resolved in a total of 18 lists, the first of which was published on 25 February (only a week after the start of the call for applications). The last one will be published in the next few days, according to the institution.

By municipalities, the number of resolved applications is as follows:

Ibiza : 1,146.000 euros distributed among 255 establishments, out of 318 requests (65.72%).

Sant Josep: 490,500 euros among 109 establishments, out of 175 requests (62.29%).

Santa Eulร ria: 837,000 euros among 186 establishments, out of 272 requests (68.38%).

Sant Antoni: 454,500 euros among 101 establishments, out of 171 requests (59.06%)

Sant Joan : 76,500 euros among 17 establishments, out of 41 requests (41.46%).

On the other hand, the Consell reported that 357 files have had to be resolved unfavorably, as 202 did not respond to the request for documentation and another 155 have not met the requirements . “The remaining 1,047 applications have been withdrawn,” the Consell added.

The Minister for Economic Promotion, Marรญa Fajarnรฉs , explained in the note that they are currently working โ€œon the possibility of applying the remaining 1.7 million euros to compensate those businesses that had applied for this call and that have also been affected by the restrictions in April (this call compensated for the impossibility of carrying out normal activity during the months of January, February and March), as well as other sectors whose economic situation has been severely aggravated by the crisis, such as travel agencies, fairgrounds or event organisation companies”.

Finally, the minister wanted to highlight the speed with which these files have been processed, “some of which were resolved within a week after the call was opened “, which would not have been possible” if it was not for the maximum involvement and diligence of the entire department, which has focused on resolving these grants. “
