Sant Jordi cannabis club exposed as front for illegal drug sales and shut down

The three arrested have been remanded in prison

The Local Police of Sant Josep de Sa Talaia and the Guardia Civil have dismantled a very active drug selling point in the area of Sant Jordi, according to the Benemérita in a statement.

Both police forces received different information about a possible distribution of drugs in a local of Sant Jordi, so a joint device was coordinated for the inspection of the establishment. Those responsible for the premises, taking advantage of the associative nature of the entity, tried to camouflage as a cannabis club what was a point of sale of hashish and marijuana.

From this inspection, by Local Police of Sant Josep five infractions were denounced to the Law 7/2013 regarding the Exercise of Activities, as well as others to the Organic Law on Data Protection.

The agents intercepted more than 8 kilos of marijuana, more than 10 kilos of hashish and 4000 euros in cash. In addition, tools for the handling of drugs were seized, including scales, a press and a vacuum packaging machine.

The operation resulted in three persons were arrestedfor the crimes of illicit association and drug trafficking. After making their statements, the judge ordered their the three detainees were sent to prison.
