The best plans for the weekend in Ibiza and Formentera

The festivities of Santa Gertrudis and the Curs Eivissenc de Cultura begin, this year dedicated to traditional cooking

This weekend’s agenda of leisure and culture brings together the most varied proposals. Those who like gastronomy, and specifically Ibizan cuisine, are in luck because this is the theme of the new edition of the Curs Eivissenc de Cultura. The initiative by the Institut d’Estudis Eivissencs kicks off this Thursday the 2nd of November at 8 pm in Sa Nostra Sala with the lecture ‘El receptari pitiús tradicional publicat (Joan Castelló Guasch) i l’alimentació a les Pitiüses preturístiques’, which will be given by Felip Cirer.

Those who still feel like continuing with the celebration of Tots Sants have an appointment on Saturday, November 4 from 6 pm in Sant Jordi. The programmed activities include the game ‘Survivial Zombie’which will begin at 9 p.m. In Formenterathe day before, at 7 p.m., will be held at the Casa del Poble de la Mola the ‘Feréstec’with horror literature and some music washed down with wine and local tapas.

There is also a theatrical proposal these days. The popular actress Toni Acosta and actor Omar Ayuso will be this Friday, November 3 at 8 pm at Can Ventosa to represent a disturbing psychological thriller, ‘The Hidden Sound’.

Santa Gertrudis kicks off its patron saint festivities on Saturday with tennis and, the following day, among other things, with the II Gincana Ibiza Preservationwhich will start at 10 am in the town square.

On Saturday, in addition, there will be two concerts in Vila: the one by BSO Prieto-Ballesterosat 12.30 p.m. at the Mercat Vell, as part of the celebrations of its 150th anniversary; and the one of ‘Very well, Fandango!’at 7 p.m. at Can Ventosa, as part of the Festival Eivissa Clàssica 2023.

Pedal Day

11 am Start of the Pedal Day at the Abel Matutes boulevard with children’s activities and a big raffle of bicycles. Departure of the main route, 13 kilometers. The departure of the second route, 6 kilometers, will be at 11.15 am and is aimed at children from eight to eleven years. At 11.30 a.m., an 800-meter route with tricycle and four-wheeled bicycles for the youngest. Traffic education circuit and children’s activities from 11:30 to 12:45.
