Christmas, Christmas, sweet Christmas… and so on. This weekend, it is already impossible not to come across Christmas activities in almost every corner of the Pityuses, so this agenda now extends until the 25th.
Christmas markets are the main focus across the different municipalities, but several events stand out. This Thursday features the Xacota de Nadal in Sant Antoni, the concert by the Sant Josep choirs in Sant Jordi, and the arrival of Santa Claus in Formentera. On Friday, the theatre classic Dinner for One will be staged in Santa Eulària, while Sant Joan welcomes the arrival of Santa Claus. Saturday brings concerts at the Vila market, the popular festival La Verbenita in Sant Antoni, the living nativity scene of Jesus, and a choral concert in Sant Josep. On Sunday, highlights include the charity concert by the Bravo mixed choir at Can Ventosa, the return of the play Vincles to Sant Antoni, and the performance of Un viatge regalat in Sant Josep. There are many more events, all gathered here.
Gastronomy also takes centre stage with the third edition of the Fira de sa Sobrassada in Sant Josep, which will be held on two dates: this Saturday in Sant Josep and next Saturday in Sant Jordi. This Saturday’s programme will conclude with the Sobrassada Rock festival, featuring LaCalle and a tribute to Leiva by Lobos.
And speaking of music, one concert clearly stands out: the French band Nouvelle Vague, performing on Friday at Teatro Pereyra. There is more to enjoy, however, with Acoustic Springsteen at Moreta Bar in Vila and Davide Garra at Las Dalias on Thursday. Between Friday and Saturday, the Ibizan band Face The Maybe will present their new album at JazzTaBé and Casanova Summum. On Saturday, there is also a new edition of Ones de Llum at Can Bonet church, as well as a concert by Los Peligrosos Gentlemen at Can Jordi Blues Station.
