The 14-day cumulative incidence (CI) of covid in Vila is the highest on the island, well over half a thousand infections per 100,000 inhabitants. Specifically, the municipality has a 14-day infection rate of 612.2 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, but although Vila’s figures stand out as the worst, they are part of the accelerated increasing trend in infections in Ibiza, an upward trend of which is already in full swing, despite starting later than the rest of the islands.
Yesterday alone, the Micribiología del Área de Salud Pitiusa laboratory detected 93 new covid positives, 87 of which were recorded in Ibiza, while the other six were in Formentera. Doctors also discharged three cases, bringing the number of active cases to 837, bringing the total number of active cases over the 800 mark.
