When the season arrives, in Ibiza any place is good to rent to workers in need of a roof to sleep under. The ads in social networking groups multiply and prices, too. Caravans are rented out in settlements, in damp walls without cupboards or, why not, in restaurants.
The Instagram account Ibiza Things has shared a publication showing a local in Platja d’en Bossa enabled as substandard housing for workers. The restaurant has installed four bunk beds in the dining room and a bed in the kitchen.
“Privacy? No. Fried smell? Always. real estate dream or gastronomic nightmare?”, they write in the publication.
The property is located a 100 meters from the beach and overlooks the Ushuaïa Ibiza hotel.
The ad, as it appears in the video, was published this February in a Facebook group that offers accommodation to workers who come to do seasonal work on the island.
Price, 2.000 euros per month. In addition, tenants must pay one month’s deposit and one month’s agency fee to enter. Electricity is paid separately.
In the publication, by way of complaint, they have mentioned the Balearic Government, the Consell de Ibiza and the Ibiza Town Hall.
