Eight garbage containers and 12 vehicles burned in two streets of es Viver

The ibiza firefighters extinguished early this morning two container fires garbage containers within 50 meters of each other, which affected several vehicles in the area two streets of es Viver. The event took place between 2.55 and 4 am, as detailed by the Local Police of Ibiza. Four firefighters in a heavy urban pump truck, Local Police and National Police of Ibiza were displaced to the scene.

One of the fires occurred in the sa Gerreria street, in front of number 4. The fire burned four garbage containers and one car and affected other cars to a lesser extent.

The other fire took place in the font i Quer street, right next to the Cementiri Vell. In this case, the flames burned four containers, a car that does not require a license and five motorcycles.

The Local Police of Ibiza has published on social networks the balance of damage caused by the fire: the flames seriously affected seven vehicles, one of them was completely burned, five motorcycles, eight containers, three trees and part of the wall of the Cementiri Vell.

A neighbor provided a fire extinguisher from his community to try to contain the fire until the arrival of emergency teams, explained the security corps, which has thanked the citizen collaboration.

The Local Police, which is investigating the facts, has appealed for anyone with information to contact them confidentially. The armed forces have rejected “this type of vandalism that endanger public safety and cause serious material damage”.

Valoriza workers have taken charge of the cleaning and replacement of the containers.
