Ibiza’s Teatro Pereyra will host the launch of Flamenco Sin Fin on Friday 13 November, a new music series exploring the evolution of flamenco, from its traditional roots to its most contemporary interpretations.

The opening performance will bring together eight artists on stage, combining guitar, flamenco singing, dance and electronic music in a show designed to explore the creative possibilities of the genre.

The performance starts at 8.30 pm and features guitarists Josemi Carmona, Paco Soto and Juan Carmona; vocalists Alana Sinkëy and Ismael de la Rosa, known as ‘El Bola’; dancers Lisi Sfair and Triana Maciel; and electronic music artist Derek V. Bulcke.

The project is built around the idea that flamenco is a living musical language, passed down through generations while continually evolving through new sounds and forms of expression.

With Flamenco Sin Fin, the organisers aim to create a dialogue between tradition and avant-garde experimentation, moving from the most authentic forms of flamenco singing to contemporary musical innovation.

From Ketama to Electronic Flamenco

One of the main attractions of the opening show is Josemi Carmona, son of legendary guitarist Pepe Habichuela and a member of one of flamenco’s most influential musical families.

He joined Ketama at just 14 years old before going on to establish a solo career that earned him a Latin Grammy nomination.

Another key performer is Ismael de la Rosa ‘El Bola’, a flamenco singer from Seville and a member of the Fernández de Triana family. He began singing as a child and has since explored new musical directions. Among his notable collaborations was his participation alongside C. Tangana on the Sin Cantar ni Afinar tour.

Meanwhile, Alana Sinkëy, known for her work with projects including Patax and Cosmosoul, brings a distinctive vocal style combining influences from jazz, flamenco, funk and neo-soul.

The more experimental side of the performance will come from Derek V. Bulcke, who is based in Granada and has developed a musical project reinterpreting flamenco singing through electronic sounds and rhythmic structures.

Dance will be represented by Lisi Sfair, a Brazilian flamenco dancer who has been based in Madrid since 2009. Her career has focused on exploring new connections between traditional flamenco and other creative disciplines. She will share the stage with Triana Maciel.

A New Musical Direction for Teatro Pereyra

Flamenco has already featured in Teatro Pereyra’s programme this year, with performances including La Cena de los Flamencos and a solo appearance by Noemí Escudero.

With the launch of Flamenco Sin Fin, the historic Ibiza theatre is expanding its commitment to the genre, bringing together different generations and musical styles on the same stage.

More than 125 years old and officially recognised as a Site of Cultural Interest (Bien de Interés Cultural), Teatro Pereyra continues to strengthen its cultural programme with performances that connect Ibiza’s artistic scene with wider musical traditions.
