Bruno García, who has been Spanish champion in minor categories, reaches his greatest sporting success with the Spanish team in the world championship, after having an excellent world championship, qualifying in the quarterfinals and in the semifinals in first position.
The competition does not end here for the paddler from Ibiza, as he also participates with the Spanish team in the K4 500 meters, again with Carlos Garcia, Ernesto Goribar from Cantabria and Mario Sanchez from Salamanca. Yesterday his canoe came in second place in his series, qualifying directly for the final to be held this morning.
The Spanish team will compete again with Russians, Germans, Hungarians and Slovaks for the medals, although according to the canoe coach of the CNSA, Eduardo Prendes, there are possibilities of recieving another metal: “Bruno has told us that in this qualifying event they have not given 100% because it was not necessary, since the first three of each heat qualified directly for the final”.
