The only runway at Ibiza Airport currently enabled for commercial traffic will receive a total of 316 aircraft over the four days of the Constitution long weekend, counting both landings and takeoffs. Data provided by Aeropuertos Españoles y Navegación Aérea (AENA) indicate that this volume of traffic is practically identical to last year, when just two fewer movements were registered.
Unlike the summer season, from Friday 5 December to Monday 8 December, most aircraft arriving at or departing from Ibiza will be domestic: specifically, 294 of the total. The remaining 22 flights will be international.
Last year, the gap between domestic and international operations was smaller, with 42 of the 314 movements recorded being international and 272 domestic, according to the same source. Traffic to Spanish destinations tends to increase during the so-called “valley” months — those outside the tourist season, when activity is lower.
Regarding the distribution of flights over the coming days, the highest volume is expected this Friday, with 88 operations scheduled (counting both arrivals and departures), followed by Sunday (84), Monday 8 December (74), and Saturday, with just 70 planned flights.
