Albanian mafia brought large drug shipments to Ibiza

The investigation carried out by the National Police and the Guardia Civil places the Albanian mafia behind the large drug shipments that arrived in Ibiza and Mallorca to be distributed by Stefan Milojevic, considered the “main executing arm” of this criminal organisation whose objective was to “flood” the Balearic Islands with narcotics.

The police reports included in the case file —whose secrecy was lifted this week— warn that the capacity of this gang “is unprecedented” and emphasise that Milojevic had connections with prominent mafia bosses in Eastern Europe, which “allows him to move drugs around the world”. In fact, the investigations indicate that the drug shipments arrived in Ibiza and from there were distributed to Mallorca and the mainland, before ending up in countries such as Italy, France and Germany.

The operation, which began two years ago, has led to the seizure of 687 kilos of cocaine, 2,500 kilos of hashish and more than one and a half million euros, as reported yesterday by the National Police and the Guardia Civil. But the network led by Milojevic moved far more: in Mallorca alone they allegedly managed to sell 2,107 kilos of cocaine and 5,647 kilos of hashish, according to documents seized from the suspects, generating a turnover of more than 25 million euros.
