“Commitment, tenacity, effort, courage, and non-conformity”. These are, in the words of Diario de Ibiza’s director, Cristina Martín, the values embodied by this Tuesday’s winners of the new edition of the Premis Diario de Ibiza. All of them, she said, are “an example that should inspire us”—especially, Martín added, in critical times like those Ibiza has experienced in recent weeks due to “the catastrophic effects of unprecedented torrential rains”.
Values “are very important” in an era “marked by constant and vertiginous change, by uncertainty that unsettles and often distresses us”, but in which there are always people capable “of transforming their surroundings into something positive”, emphasised the director of Es Diari. They are “solid and tenacious” individuals who have been working for many years, each in their own field—often away from the media spotlight—and who “send us a hopeful and bright message, simple but powerful: it is worth it”.
