Yacht in Ibiza recognised as first PADI dive boat for training

The 62-metre superyacht Roma, currently in Ibiza, has drawn attention not only for its luxury design and features but also for its ownership by Austrian businessman René Benko, embroiled in financial scandals across Europe. Built in 2010 by Viareggio SuperYachts with exterior styling by Espen Øino and interiors by Newcruise, the yacht offers eight staterooms, extensive leisure facilities including a pool, cinema and gym, and space for 18 crew. Notably, Roma was among the first yachts to earn RINA Green Star certification for eco-friendly systems and was also certified as a PADI Dive Boat. Once valued at €45 million, it is now on sale for €29.9 million amid Benko’s legal and financial troubles. Despite this, Roma has remained a popular charter yacht, recognised internationally and known for its distinctive onboard attractions such as a 20-metre slide, water sports equipment, and a transatlantic cruising range.
