Aemet warns of “extremely warm” temperatures and muddy rain in Ibiza

This week is marked by temperatures extremely warm in the Balearic Islands, according to the forecast of the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet). The hottest day has been this Monday, with maximum temperatures that have reached 31 degrees in Sant Joan; 30 degrees, in Ibiza; 29 degrees, in Sant Antoni, 27 degrees, in Formentera and 26, at the airport.

From Friday onwards, there could be a change in the weather, due to the arrival of an DANA which will leave significant rainfall in the archipelago and a sharp drop in temperatures.

The week has started in Ibiza with intervals of high clouds, morning mists and a light layer of dust in suspension. Throughout the day on Monday, temperatures will be especially high.

Mud rain

On Tuesday, skies will dawn lightly cloudy, although occasional precipitation could be recorded by midday, accompanied by mud.

Temperatures will remain little changed, with highs of up to 27 degrees and lows of 19.

The wind will blow lightly to moderately from the northwest, turning south in the afternoon.

On Wednesday the skies will remain clear. The mercury of the thermometers will not exceed 26 degrees. The wind will blow lightly to moderately from the southwest.

Weather change

The weather will begin to change at the end of the week. On Thursday we expect cloudy intervals. On Friday, the arrival of a DANA could leave significant precipitation in the Balearic Islands, although the probability of precipitation in Ibiza is 45%.

A sharp drop in temperatures is expected over the weekend.
