Schools not permitted to ask parents if their children have been immunized

Unlike what happens in Catalonia, the schools of the islands will not have access to this information. The Conselleria of Education will refer all infections to Educovid Health

The Education Department points out that the directive teams of the schools of the islands will not be able to ask the parents of students if their children are vaccinated since, they underlined, it would be an irregular action that would violate the law of protection of data.

The ministry of Martí March thus disassociated this autonomous community from the decision adopted by the Generalitat of Catalonia, which will allow the institutes of its territory to access the vaccination data of students and teachers to manage quarantines.

Thus, the Catalan Government would be outlining a decree for schools to have this health information to organize the classrooms in case they detect a positive case. Access to this information makes sense in order to establish that close contacts of confirmed positives who have already been fully vaccinated will not have to remain isolated for a minimum of ten days.

Same protocol

“All cases of infection or outbreaks will be reported to Educovid Health who will be responsible for monitoring and isolation. We maintain the same protocol as last year,” clarified the Education Department.

On the use of the mask and following the refusal of a family from Costitx that their children wear a mask in school, the Education department reminds us that the wearing of masks is mandatory for all students from six years old in schools on the Balearic Islands. You can not access any center without a mask unless you have a medical certificate as confirmation, they reiterated.
