Covid on Ibiza: 3 hospitalized, 1 of them in critical condition

In the last week, two patients have had to be hospitalized due to covid

Three people are currently hospitalized on the Pitiusas Islands for complications arising from an coronavirus infection, as detailed by the Balearic ministry yesterday in its weekly update of the pandemic data. Two of them are on the ward while one remains in an intensive care unit (ICU).

There are two more patients admitted for covid than last week, when there was only one, in a critical care unit. In total, there are nine covid-positive people admitted on Ibiza: eight on the ward and one in the ICU. That is, there are six who, although they are infected, the reason for their hospital admission has not been any complication by the virus but they were detected positive when they were admitted for other reasons.

At the moment there are no positive cases of residents using care facilities on Ibiza, only one worker.

One covid death

In the last week, the Conselleria detected a death caused by the virus in the month of August, in one of its regular mortality reviews: a 76-year-old man who died on August 14. With him there are now 77 covid fatalities in the Pitiusas so far this year.
