The Pitiusas Health Area reported the detection of 35 new cases of Covid infections yesterday, 32 in Ibiza and three in Formentera, while doctors, meanwhile, admitted four new cases. Thus, the number of active cases continues its upward trend of the last fortnight, standing at 424 cases, 416 in Ibiza and eight in Formentera.
Although the number of new infections reported yesterday is somewhat higher than those detected in recent days, the average remains at twenty per day. According to Ib-Salut, last Tuesday’s figure of 16 was lower than the average for the last few days.
However, after the drop in the number of people hospitalised for Covid two days ago, the number of people admitted yesterday was back up to 12. 11 of them are hospital inpatients and only one is in the ICU.
97% of active cases in Ibiza and Formentera are mild or asymptomatic and are being monitored at home by Primary Care, 404 people in Ibiza and 8 under the supervision of Formentera’s mobile units (UVAC).
